Our team let their imaginations run wild as part of the salons annual charity fundraising event. Under the theme “Avant Garde” each stylist together with a willing model had to devise and create a unique style to encompass an amazing hair and fashion combination. They then had to present their work explaining the inspiration and techniques used to create it.

The team were scored by both a professional judging team as well as a public vote from a capacity crowd. James Davies from Salon Success formed part of the professional judging panel and was “blown away the by effort, passion and hard work put in to each of the models looks”.

DSC_0173Each stylist was highly commended by the judges but it was Chris O’Sullivan who took both the judges and public vote with his ocean inspired theme. Runner up was Della Hazard with an audacious entry that fused gothic and punk styles.

In addition to the hair show the audience were treated to top fashion tips from fashionista Gaye Richardson and a fascinating talk on Feng Shui by Janine Lowe. The event was compered by Tim Fifield who also performed in a specially written comedy sketch with two local actors.

This special event was the culmination of a weeks worth of fundraising for Cancer Research UK at the popular salon in Coltsfoot Drive.

cruk2Salon owner Mandy Masters was delighted at the audience feedback; “this has, by far, been our best ever event. The reaction from the audience was incredible. I’m so proud of my team who put in such an amazing effort giving up their time for such a worthwhile cause”.

The event raised over £2200 for Cancer Research UK.
